Tooth Whitening Gel products are not created equal
All Home Tooth Whitening Gel promise whiter and brighter teeth but what is the best value?

All tooth whitening gel is not created equal. Although many claim to offer whiter teeth in days, some fail to deliver on the promises. Let’s face it, when we only shop by price alone, we usually get what we pay for. Instead, let’s start considering products that give us, the consumer VALUE! Value simply means that we get what we pay for that’s within our budget.

All products including even the most popular ones and those that are only available from your local dentist use a variety of fillers in their whitening gel products. Given enough fillers and any product can look like it is a good value. But extra fillers only increase the size of the syringe package, making it appear bigger so we as consumers assume we're getting much more product. The truth though is that the amount of active ingredient(s) are basically the same.
REMEBER that when these products .... Bigger is NOT a better value.

These fillers are not dangerous to your health but at the very least is not being honest with the consumer. Adding fillers actually can slow down the whitening process because there’s less active product being used during each treatment. It's actually better for us as consumers to understand how much active ingredients we're getting. A little of a high quality product can go a lot farther than more or the cheaper stuff.

Fluoride is found in several home teeth whitening products. Be aware that although this can help prevent tooth decay, for some with sensitivity to fluoride, this is a problem. Personally, I'm not interested in another dose of fluoride as I get it in the municipal water supply and my toothpaste.

The other side to this are whitening gel claims to offer faster results. What they don't say is that these faster acting products have a higher level of the active ingredient, carbamide peroxide. Now I know you're all thinking that more is better right? In this case, higher levels of this product can actually burn your gums and sensitize your teeth. Neither of these by products are worth the little bit of time saved using high strength teeth cleaning products. Using a higher strength product that causes irritation and sensitivity will only cause you NOT to continue to use the product.

Teeth whitening gels come in a variety of flavors with as expected, fruity flavors the most popular. Thickness of the material is critical for good contact to your teeth when used. Products of lesser quality can have fillers that liquefy some when warmed by your teeth and mouth. This can leave gaps in the whitening solution on your teeth.

So the important things to remember are:

1. Quality of the whitening gel matters
2. A good quality product should also have a good price per use ratio.
3. Don't be fooled into thinking more means better value
4. Stay away from the super strong whitening gels that can damage soft gum tissue and sensitize teeth.

Focus on good value and you will find that the quality result will come naturally.
