Tooth Bleaching Trays

Do you really need those tooth bleaching trays to use home teeth whitening products?

The answer is definitely YES! Tooth bleaching trays work by holding the teeth whitener gel against the surface of your teeth. It's the gel material that have the active ingredient, carbamide peroxide, that has the ability to whiten and brighten your teeth and smile.

Although many over the counter products use the same type of active ingredients, the problem is that the amount of what whitens your teeth just isn't enough to make a dramatic difference very quickly. That said, the white strips and other products offering a fast whitening solution do whiten, just not very much so that you can easily notice.

If you have dull and stained teeth due to years of smoking and drinking strong tannin [brown] drinks like coffee, then the white strips will not be enough to change the appearance of your teeth.

The tooth bleaching trays however use a good tasting gel with anywhere from 15-22% carbamide peroxide that can quickly and easily whiten your teeth. Without the tooth bleaching tray, there's really no way to get a uniform coating of gel on your teeth. The last thing you might want is to have your teeth mottled in color with some areas white and others still stained.

Another benefit to the bleaching trays is that they can whiten all your teeth. Unlike the white strips, the bleaching tray can whiten even the back molars so that your smile is uniform in color. Darker back tooth enamel can make your smile look just plain weird.

This is the weakness in anything that only treats the front teeth.

Finally, it's important to realize that tooth bleaching trays can be used in the future when your teeth need a little sprucing up. None of us are willing to give up that strong Starbucks coffee or if smoking is your preference, it's not going away anytime soon.

So once your teeth have been whitened, as you continue to use your teeth, it's important to occasionally do a home tooth whitening treatment just to keep your new smile as bright and white as you prefer. The tooth bleaching trays are actually a very important part in your effort to whiten and brighten your teeth
